This organisation is a long-established, high-performing business entering an exciting new phase of growth. With private equity backing and growth opportunities across Sydney, Melbourne and online, this is a rare opportunity to join a profitable organisation seeking to scale at a pivotal moment.

As Finance Manager, you will take full ownership of end-to-end financial operations for a key subsidiary and provide broader support across the parent finance function. This is a hands-on role with genuine scope — you will own the month-end close, financial reporting, statutory obligations, and the relationship with an external bookkeeping provider, while also contributing to audits, general ledger projects, and process improvement initiatives.

You will be part of a finance team that takes pride in accuracy, rigour, and continuous improvement. The team operates with a strong focus on automation and scalable processes, and you will be expected to bring that same mindset to your work.

You are a CA/CPA-qualified finance professional with strong technical foundations in operational accounting, audit and/or financial control. You bring a high degree of attention to detail, a structured and organised approach to your work, and the communication skills to work effectively across a business.

Beyond the technical, you are someone who thrives in a culture of learning and continuous improvement. You take genuine ownership of your responsibilities, remain calm under pressure, and are energised by the opportunity to build efficient, scalable processes.

Experience with automation and a curiosity about how AI can improve how finance teams work will be well regarded. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a leader who has a strong focus on personal development and team wellbeing.

A background in a Big 4 or mid-tier chartered firm, or prior experience in a private equity-owned, multi-entity, or tech-enabled business is highly regarded. SME experience is of particular importance. Whilst prior exposure to outsourced or offshored bookkeeping arrangements is a plus, as is experience in the education sector.

This is an ideal opportunity for a 1st mover (ideally business services) or commercial Senior Accountant, stepping into your first Finance Manager role.

This is a full-time, office-based role located in the Sydney CBD.
