We’re partnering with a well-established not-for-profit organisation that delivers meaningful support to communities across Australia. With a strong national footprint, the organisation is seeking a commercially focused Finance Manager to join on a maternity leave contract and provide critical leadership during this period.
The Role
This 9 months Fixed Term Contract will be reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee day-to-day financial operations while contributing to strategic planning and decision-making. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment and can step in with confidence.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, including board reporting
- Oversee cash flow, financial controls, and compliance with accounting standards
- Manage the external audit process and statutory reporting requirements
- Handle tax obligations including BAS and FBT
- Lead and develop the finance team while ensuring efficient day-to-day operations
- Oversee payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions
- Monitor financial performance, manage risk, and support decision-making
- Maintain and improve finance systems, processes, and internal controls
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, and regulators
- Support strategic planning, financial modelling, and business case development
About You
- CA or CPA qualified or equivalent
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar leadership role
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and commercial acumen
- Experience in not-for-profit or service-based environments is highly regarded
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence and partner with stakeholders
- Able to step into a contract role and deliver impact quickly
