With increasing transaction volumes and a focus on improving finance processes, the business is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to provide immediate support to the finance team. You'll be joining a collaborative and supportive environment where your contribution will have a direct impact on the efficiency of day-to-day operations.
The Role
This is an immediate-start, 3-month contract opportunity for an experienced Finance Officer with strong Accounts Payable expertise. Initially offered as a temporary position, there is potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.
Working within a busy finance team, you will provide hands-on transactional support across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, banking, and reconciliations while assisting with process improvement initiatives. This position will play a key role in helping the business manage a high volume of invoices and reduce manual processing within Xero.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-function Accounts Payable processing
- High-volume invoice processing and data entry
- Assist with Accounts Receivable activities as required
- Banking, payment processing, and account reconciliations
- Process approximately 230 outstanding invoices and contracts within Xero
- Support the finance team with day-to-day transactional activities
- Assist with streamlining manual finance processes and improving invoicing workflows
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure processing deadlines are met
- Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts Payable, or similar transactional accounting role
- Strong end-to-end Accounts Payable experience in a high-volume environment
- Experience using Xero or similar cloud-based accounting systems
- Strong attention to detail with excellent data entry accuracy
- Confident performing reconciliations and managing banking activities
- Able to prioritise workloads and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive mindset with a willingness to identify and improve existing processes
- Available to commence immediately or at short notice
