Our client is an innovative and well-regarded Saas company, with presence across multiple countries. Continuing their growth trajectory, they are currently seeking for a Financial Accountant to join their close-knit team in Melbourne (full-time position).
The role
This is a newly created role as a result of business growth and wanting to strengthen the organisation's Finance team capabilities. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for the end-to-end financial accounting cycle.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Executing end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
- Managing revenue recognition & deferred revenue accounting.
- Preparing financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow statements.
- Assisting management reports preparation.
- Ensuring statutory and tax obligations are met (BAS, VAT, GST, Corporate Tax, etc.).
- Supporting external audit and year-end reporting processes.
- Monitoring balance sheet governance (fixed assets, prepayments, accruals, provisions, payroll accounting, working capital, etc.).
- Maintaining chart of accounts, supporting system configurations and driving process improvement/automation.
Skills & experience required:
- CA/CPA qualification or working towards.
- Exposure to recurring revenue/subscription business model.
- Hands-on experience with full accounting cycle.
- Proficient Excel user, with exposure to Xero or NetSuite.
- Pro-active individual, comfortable operating in fast-changing environments.
- Strong team player who wants to make a mark in a growing business.
