The Role
This is a hands on role suited to a technically strong Financial Accountant who is comfortable across month end, compliance and operational finance, while supporting the wider business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Take ownership of month end reporting, ensuring balance sheet integrity and delivering additional Head Office reporting requirements
- Partner with Retail Operations by preparing meaningful performance packs and providing clear commercial insight
- Oversee AP and AR activities to ensure smooth day to day finance operations
- Manage weekly cashflow forecasting and support key compliance requirements including BAS, GST, FBT and income tax
- Contribute to stock and inventory processes, including involvement in biannual stocktakes
- Play an active role in budgeting, forecasting and annual audit processes
- Drive process improvement initiatives, strengthen internal controls and support system enhancements
- Document and refine procedures, challenge inefficiencies and identify opportunities to improve performance across the finance function
- CA/CPA qualified or close to completion
- 3+ years experience in a Financial Accountant role, ideally within a commercial environment
- Strong technical accounting and compliance capability
- Confident managing stakeholders across finance and operations
- Proactive, detail oriented and focused on continuous improvement
