Leading Retail group on the lookout for a Financial Accountant to support the integrity and performance of our financial operations. 6 month contract initially.
Reporting into the Financial Controller, you’ll play a key role in supporting the month‑end processes, financial reporting, reconciliations and compliance activities. This role is ideal for an emerging accounting professional looking to strengthen core technical skills in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and post month‑end journals and assist the Senior Financial Accountant with the financial close
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
• Support the audit process
• Maintain the fixed asset register and coordinate capex processes
• Assist with compliance activities and insurance renewals
• Prepare BAS and GST submissions for the ATO
• Participate in ad‑hoc reporting and finance projects as required
To be considered for this role:
• Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance
• CA qualification or currently completing (within 6 months)
Experience
• 2–3 years’ experience in an accounting or finance support role (desirable)
• Exposure to retail industry advantageous
• Experience with ERP systems preferred
