A commercial business operating across a range of industries and operations is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its Brisbane based finance team.
The organisation operates in a commercially driven environment with a strong focus on operational support, financial accuracy and continuous improvement. Finance works closely with leaders across the business, providing reporting, analysis and day to day support across a broad portfolio of activities.
The Opportunity
Reporting into senior finance leadership, this role offers exposure across financial accounting, reporting and operational support within a collaborative team environment.
You’ll take ownership of a range of month end and reporting responsibilities while partnering with internal stakeholders to support business performance and maintain strong financial controls. The role suits someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in accuracy and is looking to continue developing within a commercial environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing month end journals, reconciliations and reporting adjustments
- Managing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining fixed asset registers
- Supporting BAS, FBT and other compliance related activities
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting
- Reviewing payment runs and supporting transactional finance processes
- Preparing reports and analysis for operational leaders
- Supporting year end reporting and external audit requirements
- Contributing to process improvements and finance-related projects
About You
You’re a proactive accountant who enjoys working across both reporting and operational finance activities. You’re organised, detail focused and comfortable managing competing deadlines within a fast paced business environment.
You’ll bring:
- Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business
- Experience in a commercial accounting or finance role
- CA/CPA qualification (completed or in progress)
- Strong Excel capability and confidence working with financial systems
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the business
- A hands-on mindset and willingness to support across the finance function
