A fast paced Australian business with a strong consumer presence is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its Brisbane-based finance team.
The organisation operates within a dynamic environment where finance plays an important role in supporting commercial decisions, maintaining strong financial controls and driving ongoing improvements across systems and reporting. With a collaborative culture and an evolving finance function, the role offers broad exposure and involvement beyond core reporting activities.
The Role
Reporting into a Senior Finance Manager, this role offers a blend of financial reporting, technical accounting and process improvement responsibilities within a collaborative team environment.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining reporting accuracy and supporting month end activities, while also contributing to broader initiatives focused on strengthening controls and improving finance processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing key month-end activities including journals, accruals and adjustments
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining supporting schedules
- Supporting BAS, FBT and statutory reporting obligations
- Assisting with technical accounting matters and financial reporting requirements
- Supporting preparation of financial statements and group reporting activities
- Investigating reporting variances and maintaining integrity of financial information
- Partnering with stakeholders to provide financial support and insights
- Contributing to process improvement initiatives and finance projects
About you
You’re a technically capable accountant who enjoys balancing detail with broader business involvement. You’re comfortable working within a dynamic environment, enjoy improving processes and take ownership of delivering accurate financial outcomes.
You will bring:
- CA or CPA qualification or nearing completion
- Experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role
- Strong financial reporting and reconciliation capability
- Exposure to statutory reporting and month-end processes
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with ERP systems
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the business
- A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
