Perigon Group is excited to partner with a leading ASX-listed organisation in search of a Financial Accountant. We're looking for a sharp, detail-oriented finance professional to step in and take ownership of financial operations and reporting across the business.
Working closely with the Financial Controller, you'll partner with a variety of different stakeholders across the business, sit across budgeting and forecasting, and have a real say in how the business performs. As a listed organisation, you'll get the rigour and profile that comes with a public company without sacrificing the balance and flexibility that keeps good people around.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyse financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policy
- Drive budgeting and forecasting, partnering with managers to gather data, analyse variances and guide spend
- Monitor costs, expenses and revenue trends, identifying opportunities to reduce cost, lift revenue and improve profitability
- Own month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations, accruals and adjusting entries
- Support internal and external audits and maintain compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards
- Improve financial systems and processes, championing automation and supporting system upgrade or implementation projects
- CA/CPA qualified
- Experience in audit preferred, suiting a first-time mover
- Strong grasp of accounting principles, compliance and financial reporting
- Confident across budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, with advanced Excel
- Excellent communicator who can partner with non-finance stakeholders at all levels
- Organised, deadline-driven and comfortable working autonomously in a fast-moving business
