We are partnering with a well-established organisation seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their Brisbane CBD team on a 3-month contract basis. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can quickly integrate into the business, build strong working relationships, and support key finance functions during a busy period.
The successful candidate will work closely with operational and project stakeholders across a variety of accounting and reporting responsibilities. Industry experience is welcomed but not essential, with strong communication skills, adaptability, and a proactive attitude considered most important.
The Role
Key Responsibilities
- Support month-end close activities across multiple entities
- Maintain and update project cost trackers, including monitoring expenditure against budgets
- Assist with reconciliations, journals, and financial reporting requirements
- Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding project cost allocations and adjustments
- Coordinate with external advisors to support tax compliance and reporting deadlines
- Assist with accounts payable, invoice tracking, and treasury-related tasks
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting processes
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and finance-related projects as required
About You
- CA/CPA qualified
- Previous experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role
- Strong Excel and financial systems experience
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to work autonomously
- Prior exposure to project accounting environments highly regarded
