  • HR Business Partner Resource BP (HRBP)
    Located: Sydney Hybrid
    Flexible working, including flexible hours and hybrid arrangements (minimum 3 days per week on-site)
    $130,000 - $135,000 + super + salary packaging

    THE ROLE
    This role is more than traditional HR. As a true strategic partner, you'll work closely with a dedicated portfolio of teams across both laboratory and professional services, to understand what they need and help them thrive.
    This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is happy to roll up their sleeves, wear different hats and support across teams where needed. There are no egos here, just a collaborative, mission-driven environment where everyone pitches in.
    • Build and deliver People Plans that support both scientific and operational goals
    • Balance creative people solutions with solid employment law knowledge
    • Design team structures and ways of working that drive better performance
    • Lead and support change across the organisation in a structured, thoughtful way
     
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Partner with Lab Heads and People Leaders to design and implement organisational models that optimise team effectiveness, particularly when establishing new teams
    • Lead labour planning initiatives to ensure the right talent is in place to meet scientific milestones
    • Advise on job design and role clarity to ensure every team member understands their contribution to the broader mission
    1. Coaching & Building High-Performing Teams
    • Act as a trusted advisor to People Leaders, providing 1:1 coaching to enhance leadership capability
    • Facilitate talent reviews and succession planning while coaching managers through complex performance management scenarios
    • Partner with leaders to cultivate psychologically safe, collaborative team cultures
    1. Remuneration & Market Alignment
    • Conduct annual remuneration reviews across your client portfolio to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness
    • Analyse market data to ensure reward and recognition frameworks attract and retain top-tier global talent
    1. Change Management, Project Governance & Engagement
    • Apply structured change management practices to guide staff and leaders through organisational shifts
    • Implement P&C projects while adhering to project governance and reporting frameworks
    • Utilise engagement data, exit interviews and sentiment analysis to identify trends and design targeted interventions
    1. Risk Mitigation & Employment Relations
    • Manage a portfolio of ER cases with sound judgement, ensuring issues are resolved fairly and in line with employment law
    • Act as lead contact for sensitive and complex matters, utilising strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
    • Proactively identify, assess and report operational, financial and safety risks
     
    SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
    • Minimum 3 years' experience in HR
    • Demonstrated experience managing a portfolio and handling ER cases end-to-end
    • Strong stakeholder management skills and comfortable engaging at all levels including senior leaders and executives
    • You must be open to and confident working with lab heads and professional staff
    • Tertiary qualification in HR or Psychology; a Science degree is advantageous
    • Strong knowledge of Australian employment law
    • High proficiency in HRIS platforms; Workday experience desirable
    • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations
    • Someone who is hands-on, adaptable and happy to support wherever needed
