We are seeking a qualified and experienced Interim Accountant to join an established organisation on a short term contract based in Brisbane.

This role would suit a CPA or CA qualified Accountant with a strong external audit background, looking for an immediate contract assignment and the chance to gain valuable experience within a highly respected organisation.

The Role
As part of a collaborative audit team, you will support the delivery of financial and assurance audits across a diverse portfolio of organisations. This is a hands-on role requiring strong analytical skills, stakeholder engagement, and experience undertaking audit testing and investigations.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake fieldwork for financial and assurance audits at client sites.
- Conduct interim and final audit testing across a range of audit engagements.
- Support audit planning and risk assessment activities.
- Investigate financial and operational matters, identifying key findings and risks.
- Prepare audit working papers, reports and presentations.
- Contribute to audit research and technical analysis.
- Assist in delivering audits within agreed budgets and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Auditing and Assurance Standards and Australian Accounting Standards.
- Build effective working relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- CA, CPA or equivalent Chartered Accounting qualification.
- Previous experience in External Audit, ideally gained within a Big 4, Mid-Tier or reputable audit practice.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and audit methodologies.
- Experience conducting financial statement audits and substantive testing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new environments and work autonomously.
- Full working rights in Australia or an appropriate visa permitting contract work.
