A large organisation in the financial services space is undertaking a renewed phase of an investment performance uplift and is seeking an experienced Investment Performance & Power BI Specialist to play a key role in strengthening investment reporting, analytics, and data‑driven insight.
This is a high‑impact, 12‑month fixed term contract suited to a technically strong middle‑office investment reporting professional, with deep Power BI capability and hands‑on experience delivering investment performance reporting within asset management or superannuation environments.
The Opportunity
You will support the investment function by designing, building, and delivering high‑quality performance reporting and dashboards across diversified portfolios. The role has a strong emphasis on Power BI development, performance analytics, and data accuracy, sitting at the intersection of investments, risk, compliance, and executive reporting.
This position is critical to uplifting how investment performance, attribution, exposure, and analytics are delivered, with a clear focus on reporting, transparency, and insight rather than front‑office portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards from scratch for investment and executive reporting
- Deliver accurate, timely investment performance and attribution reporting across multi‑asset portfolios
- Enhance performance analytics frameworks, including exposure analysis, drawdowns, and scenario analysis
- Translate complex investment data into clear, decision‑ready insights for senior stakeholders
- Support asset exposure monitoring, portfolio insights, and performance commentary
- Conduct quantitative analysis including trend analysis, scenario modelling, and drawdown analytics
- Work closely with custodians and data providers to reconcile, validate, and improve data quality
- Partner with stakeholders across Investments, Risk, Compliance, and Finance
- Contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives within the investment reporting function
We are targeting a profile with strong alignment to the following:
- Proven investment performance reporting experience
- Strong background within asset management, or institutional investment environments
- Hands‑on, advanced Power BI development capability (dashboard build, data modelling, automation)
- Experience working in middle‑office investment reporting, analytics, or performance teams
- Exposure to multi‑asset portfolios (equities, fixed income, alternatives)
- Strong data handling skills (SQL and Excel essential; Python highly regarded)
- Solid understanding of investment performance metrics, attribution methodologies, and exposure analysis
