This role plays a critical part in safeguarding complex ICT environments supporting a nationally significant defence program. As an IT Cyber Security Officer, you’ll act as a trusted security advisor while maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and availability of mission‑critical systems. The role blends hands‑on operational security with governance, risk and compliance responsibilities in a high‑assurance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide cyber security advice across operational and engineering teams
- Perform continuous monitoring, assurance and security testing activities
- Support system accreditation and risk reporting requirements
- Maintain secure ICT environments aligned to government frameworks
- Contribute to incident response and security documentation
- Active NV1 clearance with ability to obtain NV2
- Experience in IT security or secure system administration
- Knowledge of security monitoring, vulnerability management and hardening
- Familiarity with government security frameworks and standards
- Strong communication skills with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
