We are partnering with a large national workforce services organisation with a significant footprint across Australia. Operating across multiple industry sectors and supporting a substantial, geographically dispersed workforce, the business delivers essential services within highly regulated and safety-critical environments.
This is a senior national leadership role within a complex, high-volume operating model. Reporting into executive leadership, you will lead a large, geographically dispersed injury management and return to work function, shaping national strategy while ensuring consistent, compliant and financially sustainable recovery outcomes across multiple jurisdictions.
About the Role
As the National Manager, Return to Work & Injury Management, you will provide enterprise-level leadership across injury recovery, claims management and workplace reintegration programs nationally.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic leadership to a large national injury management and case management function
- Designing and embedding a consistent, best practice return to work framework across a dispersed workforce
- Overseeing complex and high-risk claims, ensuring early intervention and sustainable recovery outcomes
- Ensuring compliance with workers compensation legislation and regulatory requirements across all Australian jurisdictions
- Driving cost control, premium management and data-led performance optimisation across claims portfolios
- Partnering with operational and executive leaders to uplift capability and strengthen safety and wellbeing outcomes
- Managing insurer, broker, rehabilitation and legal stakeholder relationships nationally
- Delivering executive-level reporting on claims trends, risk exposure, premium impacts and improvement initiatives
- Leading enterprise-wide continuous improvement initiatives across systems, governance and recovery frameworks
- Championing a culture of accountability, safety and workforce wellbeing across the organisation
- Significant senior leadership experience within injury management, workers compensation or claims environments
- Exposure to large, operationally intensive service environments
- Strong understanding of multi-jurisdictional legislative and regulatory frameworks
- Demonstrated experience managing claims portfolios, premium performance and cost drivers
- Executive-level stakeholder engagement capability
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with the ability to influence strategy
- Tertiary qualifications in health, safety, insurance or related discipline
- A leadership style that builds capability, accountability and high performance across dispersed teams
