Job Description:

  • Genuine logistics/supply chain understanding required
  • Lead a lean, office-based team through real change
  • $180-200K + super, 10% bonus, parking spot
  • Operations Manager
    $180-200K+ Super + Bonus
    Macquarie Park
    Full-time in office (1-day WFH)

    About the Role

Our client is a well-established, growing distribution business, and this newly created Operations Manager role sits right at the centre of that growth.

This isn't your traditional supply chain or warehouse role, our client doesn't run its own warehouse. You'll be leading a lean, office-based team through a period of real change.

A genuine, working understanding of logistics and supply chain is essential, alongside a real focus on driving automation and digital transformation. What matters is how you lead: someone who has successfully managed multiple teams, can bring people through change, and is genuinely hands-on while still thinking strategically about how the operation scales.

    What You'll Be Doing
    • Lead and develop a team across customer success, customer service, supply chain and technology functions, staying hands-on and close to the day-to-day detail, not just directing from above.
    • Driving process improvement and digital transformation, including automation and AI, this is a big one for the business, so experience (or a genuine interest) in building and connecting AI agents to remove manual work is a real plus
    • Managing the operational side of a fast-paced, lean structure
    • Bringing structure to a growing, fast-moving environment
    • Own end-to-end supply chain management, including the 3PL relationship (DHL), procurement and inventory, with a focus on optimising working capital
    • Drive down freight and logistics costs through competitive tendering and rate benchmarking
    • Oversee order-to-delivery performance, resolving service issues and tracking metrics like order accuracy and on-time delivery
    • Act as the key operational point of contact between the leadership team and external partners, reporting directly into the CFO
    • Manage change well in a lean, fast-paced structure, a genuinely newly created role with room to shape how it's done

    What You'll Bring
    • Strong, proven people leadership experience, ideally across multiple functions or teams of a decent size
    • Has gone through a system implementation or roleout
    • A strategic mindset paired with a genuine willingness to be hands-on and in the detail
    • Excellent communication skills, bringing people with you through change
    • A tech-forward mindset; comfort with (or real curiosity about) AI and automation tools
    • Salesforce experience is a bonus

    What's on Offer
    • 10% performance-based bonus
    • A dedicated parking spot
    • A genuinely newly created role with scope to shape it, and a business that's growing fast enough to need you
