This is a hands-on role supporting a busy payroll function through a period of growth and transition, with a strong focus on EOFY, governance and process improvement.
The Role:
- End-to-end oversight across AU/NZ payroll (c.512 headcount, growing to ~560)
- Weekly NZ payroll, fortnightly AU payroll (award-heavy) and monthly group payroll
- Heavy involvement in EOFY activities, reporting and payroll governance
- Partner closely with the Payroll Lead to support BAU and manage workload capacity
- Drive process improvements, streamline workflows and uplift payroll structure
- Stakeholder engagement across Payroll, HR and wider business
About You:
- Proven experience at Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll level in a complex environment
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, with exposure to NZ payroll advantageous
- Experience working within award-heavy industries (retail highly regarded)
- Exposure to workers' compensation/premium reporting preferred
- Systems experience with Dayforce or similar HRIS/payroll systems (nice to have)
- Proactive mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner across functions
