Job Description:

  • Build a sales function and make the role genuinely your own
  • Leverage your network to win exciting new foodservice business
  • Join a growing, hands-on business with real autonomy and impact
  • An established and growing Australian food manufacturing business is looking for a Sales Manager to take ownership of its next phase of foodservice growth.

This is a brand-new role created following significant growth over the past 18 months. The business has built a strong customer base across Australia and is now looking for a commercially minded sales professional to take the reins, build new relationships and turn opportunities into revenue.

This is not a sit-back account management role. You'll be expected to hunt, build relationships, open doors and close business. You'll have genuine autonomy to shape the sales function and make the role your own.
    The opportunity

You'll be responsible for growing the company's foodservice and wholesale offering across hospitality, catering and large-scale foodservice environments.

    Your focus will include:
    • Growing existing customer relationships while actively winning new business
    • Leveraging your existing industry network to open doors and create opportunities
    • Building and managing a strong sales pipeline from prospecting through to close
    • Identifying opportunities to expand market share and develop new customer segments
    • Driving sales, margin, gross profit and customer retention
    • Developing the wholesale growth strategy and establishing a clear sales rhythm
    • Understanding customer challenges and presenting practical product solutions
    • Working closely with the internal team to ensure customers are supported from opportunity through to delivery
    • Getting out in the market, meeting customers and building genuine commercial relationships
    About you

We're looking for someone who already understands B2B foodservice or wholesale sales and can hit the ground running.

    You'll ideally bring:
    • 3+ years' experience in foodservice, wholesale or related B2B sales - essential
    • A strong and relevant network across foodservice, hospitality, catering, chefs, procurement or distributors
    • A proven track record of winning new business and closing deals
    • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
    • Solid commercial acumen, with an understanding of margin and gross profit
    • Strong knowledge of food products, ideally including meat cuts, specifications, yields and portion control
    • Excellent pipeline management and organisational skills
    • A highly self-motivated, energetic and proactive approach
    • The confidence to work autonomously without needing to be hand-held
    • A practical mindset - someone who can think strategically but isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves
    • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively within a small, close-knit team
    • A current Australian driver's licence
    Why this role?

This is an opportunity to join a business that has genuine momentum and a compelling product proposition.
The products help foodservice operators tackle some of the biggest challenges facing kitchens today - labour shortages, food waste, portion control, consistency and cost. From large-scale catering and mining environments through to major corporate and hospitality customers, the products can supplement existing kitchen operations and make life significantly easier for chefs and catering teams.

You'll be joining at an exciting point in the company's growth, with an established customer base, national distribution capability and plenty of white space to pursue.

Most importantly, you won't be inheriting someone else's sales strategy - you'll have the opportunity to build it. The culture is relaxed, collaborative and hands-on, with a long-tenured team and a genuine family-business feel. Everyone has a voice, ideas are encouraged and working well together matters.
