A well-established organisation with a broad operational footprint is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Brisbane-based finance team.
The business operates across a diverse portfolio of assets and has continued to expand its operations in recent years. With a strong focus on financial accuracy, stakeholder reporting and continuous improvement, the finance team plays a central role in supporting both day-to-day operations and longer-term planning.
The Role
This role offers a combination of financial reporting, portfolio ownership and stakeholder engagement within a collaborative team environment.
You will take ownership of a group of entities, ensuring accurate reporting, supporting planning processes and working closely with internal stakeholders to provide clarity around financial performance. The role suits someone who is comfortable managing multiple priorities and enjoys being accountable for their own deliverables.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts across multiple entities
- Delivering variance analysis and commentary to support business performance
- Managing balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and financial schedules
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
- Preparing periodic reporting for internal and external stakeholders
- Monitoring receivables, billing processes and account balances
- Supporting corporate reporting, including payroll journals and intercompany reconciliations
- Partnering with internal stakeholders to provide financial support and insights
- Contributing to process improvements and reporting enhancements
- Providing guidance and support to junior team members
About You
You’re an experienced accountant who enjoys taking ownership of your work and operating in a role that combines technical accounting with stakeholder interaction. You’re comfortable working across multiple entities, managing deadlines and explaining financial outcomes in a clear and practical way.
You’ll bring:
- CA/CPA qualification (or working towards)
- Experience in a similar accounting role with exposure to multi-entity environments
- Strong capability across reporting, reconciliations and financial analysis
- Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
- Solid Excel skills and experience working with accounting systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with non-finance stakeholders
- A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities
