    A well-established organisation is currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their finance function on a short-term contract to provide leave cover. This opportunity will run for approximately 6–8 weeks and is based in Brisbane.

    This organisation operates within a collaborative, values-driven environment, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, accountability, and high-quality financial stewardship. You will be joining a small, capable finance team supporting key operational and reporting activities during a busy period.

    The Role

    This role plays an important part in supporting core finance operations, ensuring the smooth delivery of budgeting, reporting, and transactional processes. You will bring a hands-on approach and the ability to quickly step into an established environment.

    This is a great opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys a mix of routine and ad hoc responsibilities, and can operate effectively on a contract basis.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Support with the company's budget process, including stakeholder liaison and maintenance of budget templates
    • Assist with general budgeting and forecasting activities
    • Perform bank reconciliations for a small entity
    • Prepare and post journals, including fortnightly payroll journals
    • Review and approve weekly payment runs
    • Complete balance sheet reconciliations
    • Assist with levy calculations
    • Provide day-to-day financial operations support
    • Contribute to ad hoc finance tasks as required
    About You
    • Strong Excel skills (advanced level)
    • Solid accounting fundamentals with proven experience in a similar role
    • Demonstrated experience with budgeting and forecasting processes
    • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
    • Experience using Xero
    • Ability to work autonomously and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with internal stakeholders
