A highly regarded professional services organisation is seeking a Senior Accounts Officer to join its Brisbane finance team.
Supporting a busy and fast paced business, the finance function plays an integral role in ensuring operational excellence, maintaining robust financial processes and delivering a high level of service to both internal and external stakeholders. This position sits within a collaborative team that values initiative, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
The Role
This is a senior operational finance role that combines technical expertise with stakeholder support and team leadership.
You'll become a key point of contact for billing systems, client financial data and finance-related queries, while also supporting the ongoing development of transactional processes. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you'll ensure finance operations continue to run efficiently while contributing to system enhancements and process improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a subject matter expert across billing systems and finance processes
- Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of client and financial information
- Supporting and mentoring offshore finance team members through training and guidance
- Working closely with operational teams to resolve finance and billing queries
- Contributing to enhancements across systems, reporting and finance workflows
- Providing support across trust, receivables, payables and broader finance functions during peak periods
About You
You're an experienced finance professional who enjoys solving problems, supporting others and improving the way finance operates. You're comfortable working in a service-focused environment, balancing competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in trust accounting or high-volume transactional finance within a regulated environment
- Strong understanding of legal or professional services finance systems
- Commercial awareness and an interest in how finance supports business performance
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A proactive, solutions focused approach with sound judgement and risk awareness
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across the business
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
