A well‑established, nationally operating logistics and infrastructure organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Officer to take ownership of the end‑to‑end AP function within a structured and stable finance team.
This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys responsibility, accuracy and working to clear deadlines within a multi‑entity environment.
About the role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of the accounts payable function across multiple entities, ensuring accurate processing, strong supplier relationships and timely weekly payment runs.
Key responsibilities include:
- End‑to‑end accounts payable processing across multiple entities
- Accurate coding and entry of supplier invoices in line with delegation of authority
- Review of purchase orders and GST compliance
- Weekly payment runs, including local and international payments, BPAY and direct debits
- Daily bank reconciliations within Xero
- Supplier statement reconciliations and new supplier setup
- Managing a shared AP mailbox and responding to supplier and internal queries within agreed timeframes
- Assisting with month‑end processes, audits and expenses
- Providing backup support to the wider finance team as required
You bring strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset and confidence managing a high‑volume AP function with minimal supervision.
You will ideally have:
- 3+ years’ experience in an accounts payable or finance role
- End‑to‑end AP experience within a multi‑entity or operational environment
- Strong understanding of month‑end processes
- Experience working to strict deadlines and payment cycles
- High level data processing and reconciliation skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and accounting systems (Xero experience advantageous)
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative finance team
- Stable, permanent role within an established nationwide organisation
- Structured finance function with clear processes and leadership
- Brisbane‑based office, flexibility to be discussed
- Competitive renumeration, $85,000-$95,000+super experience dependent
