Are you an experienced bookkeeper or finance professional looking for a hands-on, high-impact role in property development and construction? This newly created Senior Bookkeeper role is your chance to be a key player in a small, dynamic finance team supporting premium Brisbane developments.
You’ll work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to manage day-to-day financial operations, payroll, supplier processes, and project claims. Your work will directly contribute to the success of high-value property projects, giving you exposure across multiple entities and finance systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the finance email inbox and distribute queries efficiently
- Data entry of invoices and progress claims into Procore and MYOB
- Process payroll: prepare pay runs from timesheets, apply construction award knowledge, review allowances, and ensure accurate PAYG withholding
- Assist with accounts payable at month-end, including invoice approvals and cashflow preparation
- Manage supplier end-of-month statements and reconciliations
- Maintain financial workpapers including retention trust account records (with support)
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain data accuracy
- Ad hoc office support including answering phones and mail
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or finance officer roles, ideally within property development or construction
- Strong MYOB experience and Excel skills above beginner level
- Quick to learn project systems (Procore experience not essential)
- Pragmatic, approachable, and emotionally mature – able to work closely with a small team, speak up, and solve problems
- Detail-oriented, hardworking, and reliable with strong organisational skills
