A growing, multi-region organisation is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join its head office finance team. Operating across multiple entities and jurisdictions, the business places strong emphasis on financial discipline, stakeholder partnership and continuous improvement.
With ongoing growth and increasing complexity, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of core financial operations while leading and developing a high-performing finance team.
The Role
This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for the financial control and reporting of a large multi-entity portfolio, alongside corporate accounting responsibilities. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will work closely with senior finance leadership and operational stakeholders, while leading and mentoring a team within the finance function.
The role combines technical accounting, stakeholder engagement and people leadership, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance and process improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing month-end and year-end reporting across multiple entities
- Reviewing P&L, balance sheet, cashflow and GST reporting with detailed variance analysis
- Partnering with operational leaders to review performance against budget and forecast
- Leading annual budgeting and regular forecasting processes
- Managing audit, tax and statutory reporting obligations across multiple jurisdictions
- Supporting the preparation of consolidated reporting and board-level analysis
- Maintaining strong financial controls, reconciliations and compliance standards
- Driving improvements in finance systems, processes and reporting frameworks
- Leading, mentoring and developing a team of accountants, including recruitment and performance management
- Acting as a key finance contact for senior stakeholders across the business
About you
You’re a confident and technically strong finance professional who enjoys ownership, leadership and working across complex, multi-entity environments. You’re comfortable balancing hands-on delivery with coaching others, and you enjoy partnering with stakeholders outside of finance.
You will bring:
- CA or CPA qualification with strong post-qualification experience
- Background in multi-entity financial accounting and reporting
- Proven experience leading or mentoring junior finance team members
- Strong budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis capability
- Solid Excel skills and confidence working across ERP and reporting systems
- The ability to communicate financial results clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- A proactive mindset with a track record of improving processes and controls
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
