Our client is a very well-regarded organisation, who offer a range of critical community support services, and work hard to make a difference in times of need. They require a dynamic and skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join their team for a temporary basis with the potential to go permanent, immediate start required.
The Role
This 2 month contract for a Senior Financial Accountant will be suitable for anyone who can start immediately or on the first week of January. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies, and contributing to the effective management of resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyse statutory financial statements, management accounts, and investment reporting
- Support month-end close, financial compliance, audit, and year-end processes
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders across property, finance, operations, and external partners
- Oversee deliverables from outsourced accounting, audit, or tax service providers
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, cashflow analysis and performance reporting
- Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and relevant regulatory requirements
- CA or CPA qualified
- Minimum 4+ years’ experience in financial accounting
- Strong technical understanding of Australian Accounting Standards
- First or second mover from a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm highly regarded
- System savvy with the ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve and streamline processes
- Confident communicator with the ability to partner with senior stakeholders
