A nationally operating organisation with a diverse, multi-entity structure is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join its head office finance team. With ongoing growth and increasing complexity, the business continues to invest in strong financial governance, capability and leadership.
This role offers the opportunity to step into a senior position with visibility across the organisation and genuine influence over how the finance function operates.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will take a lead position across financial reporting, compliance and finance operations, while also providing guidance and oversight to a team within the function.
You’ll be hands-on where required, but your focus will be on review, control, leadership and supporting senior stakeholders with accurate, reliable financial information.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the delivery of month-end and year-end reporting across multiple entities
- Reviewing financial statements, balance sheets, cashflow and indirect tax reporting
- Providing oversight of budgeting, forecasting and performance review processes
- Managing audit processes and statutory reporting requirements
- Supporting consolidated reporting and senior management analysis
- Ensuring strong financial controls, reconciliations and governance standards
- Identifying and driving improvements across systems, processes and reporting
- Coaching, mentoring and developing finance team members
- Acting as a senior finance contact for stakeholders across the business
About you
You’re a technically capable and commercially minded finance professional who enjoys ownership and leadership. You’re comfortable operating at a senior level, reviewing work, guiding others and partnering with non-finance stakeholders to support sound decision-making.
You will bring:
- CA or CPA qualification with solid post-qualification experience
- Experience working in a multi-entity or complex reporting environment
- Prior responsibility for reviewing accounts and overseeing finance processes
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting and statutory reporting
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with ERP/reporting systems
- Clear communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders
- A proactive approach to improving controls, processes and reporting quality
