An established operating business backed by a well-capitalised private investment platform is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join its Brisbane finance team.
The business is entering a strong growth phase, supported by acquisition activity and active investment. With experienced financial leadership in place, this role offers direct exposure to decision-making, commercial operations and the pace of a scaling platform.

The Role
Reporting into the GM of Finance, this Senior Financial Accountant will operate as a clear 2IC within the finance function. The role is designed for someone who wants ownership, visibility and the opportunity to step beyond routine reporting.
You will take responsibility for core financial processes while helping bring structure and stability to the function during a period of leadership transition and continued expansion.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the month-end close process and balance sheet integrity
- Managing day-to-day financial accounting activities
- Acting as the key link between offshore AP/AR and senior finance leadership
- Strengthening processes and financial controls
- Supporting audit, compliance and statutory reporting requirements
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis
- Providing commercial insight into operational performance
- Contributing to improvements in reporting, systems and workflow
About you
You’re a technically strong accountant who enjoys stepping up and being trusted with meaningful responsibility. You’re comfortable working in evolving environments and want exposure to how businesses scale, not just how they report.
You will bring:
- CA or CPA qualification
- Strong financial accounting experience in a commercial environment
- Confidence owning month-end and balance sheet processes
- A structured approach to controls and governance
- Commercial curiosity and interest in understanding operational drivers
- Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with leadership
- A proactive mindset and willingness to lean in
