A large, highly respected organisation in the financial services sector is currently seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their finance function on an initial 5–6 month contract, with the potential for further opportunity following.

The Role
This role plays a key part in delivering accurate and timely financial and regulatory reporting, working closely with Finance, Audit, and senior stakeholders across the business.
You will bring strong technical accounting expertise, sound judgement, and the ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced financial accountant who enjoys combining hands-on delivery with advisory and continuous improvement work.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare annual financial statements and support regulatory reporting requirements
- Deliver quarterly and annual APRA regulatory returns
- Prepare and monitor liquidity and cashflow forecasts
- Coordinate financial audit preparation and manage audit processes
- Support implementation of new accounting standards and disclosures
- Provide timely financial reporting advice to management
- Prepare and review month-end and year-end reconciliations and general ledger accounts
- Support financial management reporting, Board submissions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- CPA or CA qualified
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business, or similar
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and financial reporting
- Proven experience preparing financial statements and regulatory reporting
- Strong reconciliation, analytical, and advanced Excel skills
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritise deadlines, and maintain attention to detail
