A large scale service based organisation is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to support reporting, analysis and team leadership activities within its finance function.
The business operates within a fast paced environment and continues to invest in its finance capability, reporting processes and stakeholder support functions. Finance plays a key role in providing accurate reporting, maintaining strong controls and supporting operational and strategic decision-making across the organisation.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role combines financial reporting, stakeholder engagement and team leadership responsibilities.
You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of reporting activities while also providing guidance and support to junior team members. The role offers a mix of review, analysis and business partnering, making it well suited to someone who enjoys balancing technical accounting with leadership and stakeholder interaction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing monthly financial reporting, reconciliations and performance analysis
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
- Preparing and reviewing statutory compliance obligations and reporting requirements
- Assisting with audit processes and year-end reporting activities
- Supporting management reporting and financial analysis for senior stakeholders
- Partnering with stakeholders to provide financial guidance and insights
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, controls and reporting processes
- Mentoring and developing junior members of the finance team
- Assisting with board reporting and ad hoc finance projects
About you
You’re an experienced accountant who enjoys taking ownership, supporting others and contributing to the wider success of a finance team. You’re comfortable reviewing work, managing competing priorities and building strong relationships with stakeholders across a business.
You will bring:
- CA or CPA qualification
- Experience in a Senior Financial Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar role
- First mover from Business Services or Audit
- Strong financial reporting and analytical capability
- Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
- Previous exposure to mentoring or reviewing the work of others
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with ERP systems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and problem solving
