A real estate investment and asset management platform, backed by a major institutional investor, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team on a 12-month contract. The business manages a commercial property portfolio spanning industrial, office, retail and mixed-use assets, and is scaling quickly with a disciplined, long-term mandate. This is a lean, nimble team where you will have genuine visibility to senior stakeholders and a real hand in shaping process as the platform grows.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for accurate and insightful financial, taxation and management reporting across the property investment vehicles. It is a hands-on role for someone who can hit the ground running, own the numbers, and bring a continuous-improvement mindset to a growing business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monthly management accounting and quarterly financial reporting packs, including NAV and unit pricing
- Business Activity Statements (BAS) and consolidated group reporting
- Annual statutory reporting and external audit
- Annual tax distribution calculations and income tax returns
- Debt compliance, including LVR and covenant reporting, plus cashflow and liquidity monitoring
- New fund and entity establishment and onboarding
- Process improvement, documentation and SOPs to support increasing scale
- Liaising with external property managers and internal asset and investment management teams
- CA or CPA qualified
- Experience in funds management, property, asset management or external audit
- Strong technical accounting, financial reporting and analytical skills, with a commercially minded approach
- Exposure to fund accounting, real estate, debt compliance or treasury activities highly regarded
- Experience with cloud accounting systems (Xero and Sage Intacct highly regarded)
- Proactive, adaptable and comfortable operating in a lean, fast-moving team
