An opportunity has arisen for an experienced finance professional to join a large and complex organisation in a broad commercial finance role supporting strategic investment initiatives and group financial planning activities.
This position offers a unique blend of FP&A, capital accounting and business partnering responsibilities, providing exposure to senior stakeholders, large investment programs and key business decisions across the organisation.
The Role
Working as part of a collaborative finance team, you will be responsible for supporting capital investment activities, coordinating forecasting processes, delivering insightful analysis and helping drive financial performance across multiple business functions.
This role is ideally suited to a commercially minded accountant who enjoys partnering with operational stakeholders, working with large data sets and translating financial information into meaningful business insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial support and analysis across a portfolio of capital investment initiatives
- Monitor project expenditure, budgets and forecasts to ensure effective financial governance
- Coordinate capital expenditure reporting and forecasting processes
- Support fixed asset accounting, capitalisation activities and asset management processes
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning cycles
- Deliver meaningful financial analysis and reporting to support decision making
- Assist with the preparation of management and executive reporting packs
- Partner with operational and business stakeholders to improve financial outcomes
- Support business improvement initiatives and ad hoc commercial projects as required
- Assist with financial reporting, audit requirements and other finance team deliverables during peak periods
About You
You are a proactive and commercially focused finance professional who enjoys building relationships across the business and influencing outcomes through quality financial insight.
- CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification
- Previous experience within FP&A, management accounting, commercial finance or project accounting
- Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis capability
- Experience supporting capital expenditure programs and fixed asset processes
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial modelling capability
- Experience working with large ERP systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify process efficiencies and business improvement opportunities
