  • The Organisation
     
    We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join a busy organisation on an initial contract basis.

    This is an initial 2 month contract with high potential to extend, ideally starting at short notice.

    Working closely with an outsourced payroll provider, you will oversee payroll review, validation, reporting and compliance activities across multiple entities.

    The Role 

    This role is ideal for someone wanting a highly flexible role, that enjoys the technical side of payroll and has strong experience interpreting awards, managing exceptions and ensuring payroll accuracy.
    • Review payroll data prior to processing to ensure accuracy and compliance
    • Manage payroll changes including new starters, terminations, promotions and remuneration updates
    • Review and investigate payroll exception reports
    • Validate award interpretation, overtime calculations, allowances and employee entitlements
    • Act as the key liaison with the outsourced payroll provider
    • Maintain employee and payroll records within Employment Hero
    • Prepare payroll reporting for finance and leadership teams
    • Coordinate month-end payroll reporting and reconciliations
    • Produce annual leave, long service leave and other payroll-related liability reports
    • Support legislative and compliance reporting requirements
    • Analyse payroll data using Excel and provide meaningful reporting insights
    About You

    To be successful in this role, you will possess:
    • Multiple years experience as a Senior Payroll Officer in a complex payroll environment
    • Strong knowledge of award interpretation and payroll legislation
    • Experience managing payroll across multiple entities and/or awards
    • Strong payroll reconciliation and exception management experience
    • Experience identifying payroll errors and proactively resolving issues
    • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
    • Strong stakeholder communication and relationship management abilities
