Perigon Group is proudly partnering with Alex Bank, who is entering its next phase of growth, expanding its payments capabilities and product suite. This role will play a central part in building the financial systems foundation that supports that expansion.
As Senior Systems Accountant, you will design and implement the bank’s reconciliation framework across payments, core banking, treasury and finance systems. Today many reconciliations are supported through robotics and spreadsheets — this role will transform that into a scalable, automated framework capable of supporting a modern digital bank.
Working across Finance, Technology, Treasury and external vendors, you will map how financial data moves through the organisation, ensuring complete, accurate and APRA-compliant reporting. With new products planned across the next three years, this role will also play a key part in shaping how financial data and reporting evolve as the bank grows.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting under the hood of systems and building solutions from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement the bank-wide reconciliation framework across payments, treasury, settlement and general ledger data flows
• Map and validate financial data flows between core banking, sub-ledgers, ERP and reporting systems
• Develop automated reconciliation processes and exception management capabilities
• Partner with Technology and vendors to improve system integrations, controls and financial data integrity
• Support APRA reporting, audit requirements and financial control frameworks through strong system design and documentation
- Strong systems accounting background with deep understanding of reconciliation platforms, financial data flows and system integrations
• Experience within an ADI or regulated financial services environment, with exposure to APRA reporting or audit requirements
• Comfortable interrogating system behaviour and analysing data flows using SQL or similar tools
• Hands-on and curious — someone who enjoys diagnosing problems and improving systems
• Experience implementing or significantly improving reconciliation or financial reporting systems
