The Senior Tax Manager role has been created to play a central part in this journey - partnering with finance leadership, legal and external advisors to ensure tax compliance, governance and integration keep pace with the organisation’s expansion.
The Role
Reporting to a senior finance leader, the Senior Tax Manager will take ownership of the organisation’s tax function, ensuring compliance obligations are met while also supporting acquisition activity and ongoing integration of new entities.
This role will combine technical tax expertise, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement. You will act as the primary tax advisor to the business and play a key role in strengthening frameworks, controls and reporting as the group grows.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the end-to-end tax function across a growing group of entities
- Ensuring compliance across corporate income tax and indirect taxes
- Supporting acquisition activity from a tax perspective, including structuring and integration
- Overseeing tax effect accounting and statutory tax reporting
- Acting as the first point of contact for tax matters across the business
- Managing relationships with external tax advisors and auditors
- Identifying opportunities to legally minimise tax exposure
- Strengthening tax governance frameworks, controls and documentation
- Supporting finance teams with tax planning and general tax matters
- Monitoring legislative changes and advising on emerging tax risks
- Driving process improvements across tax reporting and compliance
About You
You’re an experienced tax professional who enjoys operating in complex, evolving environments. You’re comfortable partnering with senior stakeholders, navigating change and providing clear, practical advice as the business grows.
You’ll bring:
- CA or CPA qualification (post-qualified experience essential)
- Strong experience in corporate tax within a medium to large firm
- Sound knowledge of Australian corporate income tax and indirect taxes
- Experience supporting acquisitions, restructures or entity growth
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Advanced Excel and analytical capability
- Experience working with ERP systems
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
