Human Resources Advisor
Indooroopilly location | 12 month fixed-term contract 

An opportunity is available for an experienced Human Resources Advisor to join a large and well-established organisation within the business services industry. Offered as a 12 month fixed-term contract, this position will provide maternity leave cover within the People Services team.

About the role
Working within the Business Partnering team, the Human Resources Advisor will provide practical, accurate and timely HR advice to managers and employees across a large and diverse workforce.

This broad generalist role will support a range of employee relations and workforce matters. You will partner closely with managers to build their capability, resolve workplace issues and ensure consistent HR practices across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Providing advice across employee relations, performance management and dispute resolution
  • Managing employee cases from initial enquiry through to resolution
  • Supporting non-work-related injury management matters
  • Interpreting awards, enterprise agreements, legislation, policies and procedures
  • Coaching managers and strengthening their capability in managing people matters
  • Contributing to workforce planning, organisational culture and operational HR initiatives
  • Researching, developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
  • Preparing reports and reviewing workforce metrics, compliance matters and audit findings
  • Identifying risks and recommending practical solutions
  • Contributing to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
About you
You will be an experienced HR professional who can confidently manage a varied workload and provide clear, practical advice to stakeholders.

To be successful, you will ideally bring:
  • At least 5 years' experience in an HR advisory or generalist role
  • Qualifications in Human Resources, Workplace Health and Safety or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Sound knowledge of employment legislation, awards, enterprise agreements and HR policies
  • Experience managing employee relations, performance and workplace matters
  • Strong judgement, problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • The ability to build credible relationships with managers and employees at all levels
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach
