Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to take ownership of payroll operations for their Australian workforce while supporting broader payroll activities across the APAC region.
This is a highly visible role suited to a payroll professional who enjoys working at the technical end of payroll, with responsibility for compliance, audits, awards interpretation, reporting, vendor management and process improvement. You'll act as the key link between employees, leadership, HR, Finance and an outsourced payroll provider to ensure payroll is delivered accurately, compliantly and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee outsourced payroll delivery, ensuring service levels, accuracy and payroll deadlines are achieved
- Review payroll calculations, reconciliations, statutory reporting and complex employee transactions including terminations and off-cycle payments
- Ensure compliance with Australian payroll legislation including Awards, Fair Work, STP, superannuation and payroll tax obligations
- Lead payroll audits, governance activities, reporting requirements and regulatory submissions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, strengthen payroll controls and maintain payroll documentation
- 5+ years' Australian payroll experience in a complex corporate environment
- Strong technical knowledge of Fair Work legislation, Modern Awards, payroll tax, superannuation and STP reporting
- Demonstrated experience working with outsourced payroll providers and managing key stakeholder relationships
- Advanced reconciliation, reporting and payroll compliance capability
- Exposure to APAC or multi-country payroll environments will be highly regarded
