A large and highly regarded organisation is currently seeking a Finance Analyst to join their finance team on an initial 8-month fixed-term contract.

Working within a high-performing finance function, you will partner with stakeholders across a diverse portfolio, providing financial support, analysis, and advice that helps drive operational and strategic outcomes.
The Role
This is a broad Finance Analyst position that blends financial analysis, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and stakeholder engagement.
You will support a portfolio of business units, providing accurate financial information, investigating variances, monitoring budgets, and assisting stakeholders to better understand and manage their financial performance. The position will suit someone who enjoys working closely with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, translating numbers into meaningful insights and recommendations.
You will be naturally analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to identify trends, investigate anomalies, and provide practical financial guidance. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will regularly engage with a broad stakeholder group and develop trusted working relationships across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the preparation, maintenance and monitoring of budgets and forecasts across a diverse stakeholder portfolio
- Preparing monthly management reports, analysing financial performance and providing variance commentary
- Investigating financial anomalies and proactively identifying risks and opportunities
- Providing financial advice and support to stakeholders on budgeting, forecasting and financial management matters
- Producing accurate and insightful financial reports to support decision-making
- Assisting with month-end processes, including reconciliations, journals and general ledger activities
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders and acting as a trusted point of contact for financial matters
- Contributing to process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing reporting, efficiency and financial controls
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in a Finance Analyst, Budget Analyst, Management Accountant or similar role
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and variance analysis experience
- Experience managing financial accounts, reconciliations and month-end activities
- Ability to interpret financial information and provide meaningful insights to stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manipulate and analyse financial data
- Experience using ERP and financial systems such as Oracle, SAP, TechnologyOne or similar
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and influence a diverse stakeholder group
