An opportunity has become available for an experienced Industrial Relations Specialist
to join a large, complex organisation on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Working as part of an established people function, this position will suit someone who enjoys the technical side of workplace relations but is equally comfortable partnering with leaders, navigating challenging scenarios and finding pragmatic solutions.
Your role will include:
- Providing specialist advice across employee and industrial relations matters
- Guiding leaders through performance, conduct, workplace investigations and disputes
- Advising on the application of industrial instruments and employment legislation
- Assisting with matters progressing through the Fair Work Commission
- Working collaboratively with HR colleagues to navigate sensitive or challenging people matters
- Supporting engagement with unions and other workplace representatives
- Building IR capability across the broader HR and leadership community
- Contributing to workplace relations projects, frameworks and continuous improvement
About you
We’re looking for someone who can bring strong technical knowledge while remaining practical and solutions focused.
You may come from an industrial relations, employee relations, workplace relations or employment law background and will ideally have:
- Demonstrated experience managing complex IR/ER matters
- Strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards and enterprise agreements
- Experience handling disputes, claims or Fair Work Commission matters
- Confidence partnering with senior stakeholders and providing advice on sensitive issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to interpret industrial information and translate it into clear, practical advice
