The Opportunity
Perigon Group is excited to partner with a leading ASX-listed organisation in search of a Payroll Manager. We’re looking for an experienced, detail-oriented payroll leader to take ownership of the payroll function across the business.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll lead a small payroll team, own statutory compliance, and act as the go-to payroll expert for employees and senior management. As a listed organisation, you’ll get the rigour and profile that comes with a public company without sacrificing the balance and flexibility that keeps good people around.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and on time, including onboarding, terminations, backpay and keeping employee records up to date
- Manage leave, including Paid Parental Leave (employer and Government), monthly leave reporting, and annual and long service leave provisions
- Own statutory reconciliations, reporting and payments, including Payroll Tax, IAS, Superannuation, FBT, Payment Times Reporting and Workers Compensation
- Manage payroll accruals at month-end, half-year and year-end, and support audit requirements
- Lead, train and develop the payroll team, including day-to-day guidance and performance reviews
- Champion process improvement, maintain procedure manuals and play an active role in system upgrades
- Partner with external stakeholders including banks, auditors and statutory agencies
About You
- Proven experience in a senior payroll or payroll management role, ideally in a multi-entity or high-volume environment
- Strong working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards and statutory obligations
- Experience leading, coaching and developing a team
- Highly accurate, organised and comfortable managing competing deadlines
- Confident with payroll systems and Excel, with a continuous improvement mindset
- Excellent communicator who can support employees and stakeholders at all levels
